Customer feedback to roadmap and release: make the next step visible

Loomora Team / 3 min

A feedback form can collect a request. The harder part is explaining what happened afterward. Customers want to know whether someone read it, whether it relates to planned work, and whether a release addressed the problem.

Start with the problem, not the vote count

Write a request that includes the situation and the desired outcome. “Export a weekly report for finance” gives the team more context than “add exports.” Votes can help surface interest, but a vote count does not explain the effort, constraints or customer impact.

The first evaluation is whether the interface makes that context easy to submit and read. Try it on a phone as well as a desktop. Then inspect how comments and status updates remain connected to the request.

Keep planning visible without promising dates

A public roadmap can show intent without pretending that every planned item has a guaranteed delivery date. Use statuses that people understand and update them when the work changes. If a request is connected to a roadmap item, keep the link visible so the customer can follow the discussion.

That relationship is part of the FeedUp workflow. The public demo lets you explore feedback and roadmap views in the actual product interface. Sample records are used to demonstrate the experience.

Explain the release in terms of the original need

A release update should explain what someone can do now. Link it back to the work where possible. Customers should not have to compare a request title with a vague release note to guess whether the problem was addressed.

A changelog is useful when it completes the story: a request was collected, a decision became visible, and a change was described. It also gives the team a place to explain limits or a follow-up rather than marking a request complete too early.

Evaluate the connected journey

  1. Submit a sample request with clear context.
  2. Read the status and comments from the public view.
  3. Follow the linked roadmap work.
  4. Read a related release update and return to the original request.
  5. Check that the same journey is usable on a phone.

Try FeedUp's demo before creating an account. The demo uses illustrative content; it does not represent endorsements or live requests from the brands shown.

If your team needs a custom workflow or integration, talk to Loomora about the boundary. A feedback platform is only helpful when the team can keep its information current.
